Wow, what a brilliant weekend we had at our festival! We welcomed friends old and new to dance workshops in so many styles, as well as performances, film showings and art exhibitions. We will share our official photos shortly, but for now we are expressing our gratitude to everyone who was involved;
Arts Council England, York & North Yorkshire Dance Hub, Northern School of Contemporary Dance and North Yorkshire Council Inspire Fund for funding,
All of our dance artists for running our wonderful workshops,
Vanhulle Dance Theatre who performed the week before the festival as an added extra, transfixing 53 children and adults in an exhilarating performance and workshop fusing contemporary dance with martial arts and physical theatre,
Butterflies Dance, Rural Arts, Thirsk & Sowerby Town Hall, The Ritz Cinema and Thirsk & Sowerby Institute which were our fabulous venues,
Neash PhotoVideo for filming, photographing and running the tech for the whole event,
Andy Bayston for coordinating the art exhibition,
liz collier for the backdrop artwork,
Thirsk Racecourse for providing festival parking,
All the dancers who performed and took part in workshops throughout the weekend. We are very grateful to everyone who took part.

We were so delighted last month to have been invited to dance at the Forum Northallerton’s 50th anniversary celebration event! The event was twofold; to raise money for a new raked seating unit, and to celebrate 50 years of being a multi purpose community venue. Look at the fantastic photos that Dawn McNamara took of us at the event!

We are delighted to announce that Arts Council England has funded us to run a dance festival in Thirsk! Running over two days, on 18th and 19th October, participants in the festival will have the opportunity to try workshops in Indian, African, Irish, Salsa, Contemporary and Musical Theatre dance styles, as well as taking in some visual art and some dance films too! Big thanks too to Northern School of Contemporary Dance and the York & North Yorkshire Dance Hub, who are also supporting our festival. More details will follow shortly!
